Power management company Eaton has launched a new range of mini rectangular photoelectric sensors which offer optimum value and sensing performance for applications in confined spaces. Measuring just 38mm by 13mm, the new E71 NanoView sensors require minimum mounting space and offer machine and system builders a reliable and cost efficient sensing solution ideally suited for applications in the packaging, food and beverage, and materials handling sectors.
The Nano View series offers a range of operating modes including polarised reflex sensor (2.5m), thru-beam sensor (1.5m to 6m), reflective sensor (350mm) and clear object detection making them suitable for a variety of applications. A key feature of the E71 NanoView miniature sensors is their ability to detect transparent objects made of plastic, glass or foils. They can also distinguish between bottles of different colours and thicknesses. An ABS plastic housing offering protection to IP66 standards also means they are suitable for harsh environments.
In addition, a potentiometer on the device enables users to adjust sensitivity of the sensor to the specific application requirements and a visible red LED beam simplifies the setting of the light barrier. The sensors also include two LEDs positioned at the top to ensure a clearly visible indication of the operating and output status. All models feature a light switching and dark switching output and versions with a fixed focus beam and a 100mm focal length for the detection of small targets are available. All modules are designed for 10 to 30 VDC and come with approvals for worldwide use.
