We received a request to supply a 1 x 2 x 16awg twisted pair Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) UV resistant Lon Cable primarily for use in the BMS industry on BMS temperature sensors. We already supply a suitable LSZH cable (DAT 8471-LSZH) for use on BMS temperature sensors however this cable does not have the UV protection required if the cable is to be used for example on the roof of a building. After much research, we were able to supply a suitable cable which has UV protection whilst retaining it’s LSZH properties.
The cable’s resistance to UV allows the electrician to install the cable from the main plant onto the roof of a building and drop down anywhere onto the shop floor.
Prior to CSE Cables supplying this cable the electrician would have to install the cable through the shop floor which meant that the shop would be closed for refurbishment losing the customer time and money. In most cases by installing the cable via the roof the electrician may also be able to use existing tray on the roof saving labour and time therefore saving the customer even more money.
